One silver lining to the crypto hype cycle is that when it calms down, we have time to focus and build. Uncertainty might surround us but times like these are critical for the continued success of web3. It’s when the noise recedes and the pruning begins. Highlights from this week; @dapplion, the Gnosis Chain Merge Coordinator, updated the community on their progress. The next round of DappCon Berlin tickets goes live on the 7th of July and dfdao revved their engines for the next round of Dark Forest. Lets gooo!!!! 🦉🦉🦉
🤝Gnosis Beacon Chain Merge Update
@dapplion provided a comprehensive update on the Gnosis Beacon Chain merge. Check out the thread below for an in-depth look at the meticulous and deliberate process the team is undertaking. Both Lighthouse and Nethermind devs are coordinating with the Gnosis Chain team to ensure a successful merge!

After the GIP-20 approval, the development and sustainable growth of the Gnosis Chain became a top priority for GnosisDAO. Even though efficient treasury management is still a must for GnosisDAO’s evolution, the scope of our work has to encompass more in order to take the Gnosis Chain to the next level, co-creating a safe, trustworthy ecosystem.
This proposal focuses on the Gnosis Chain and treasury development, seeking to reduce risk exposure, develop anti-liquidation bots to increase capital efficiency, update our security protocol, run security audits, further improve our reporting, execute and manage a sustainable rewards plan for new and existing protocols in the GC, and scout attractive new ones to make them part of the GC.
GIP-57: Should Gnosis DAO support research of a zkSNARK-enabled light client and bridge?
The current Gnosis bridge is a based on a multi-sig design. However, multi-sig bridges have known weaknesses, particularly their reliance on a relatively centralized set of operators–see the recent Ronin bridge and Harmony bridge hacks, in which hundreds of millions of dollars of funds were stolen by attackers who gained access to multi-sig keys. SNARK-enabled bridges–sometimes called “trustless” bridges–potentially have better security properties. We propose to build prototypes of essential infrastructure for a potential SNARK-enabled bridge for Gnosis to Eth2 bridging.

🏘 DAO of the Week: Giveth
Giveth was founded in 2016 by a group of altruistic whitehat hackers, on a mission to transform the way public goods are created & funded by supporting nonprofit projects in becoming DAOs.
Anyone can create a project and start raising funds on Mainnet & Gnosis Chain, with no fees or intermediaries. 100% of each donation goes directly to the project and donors are rewarded with $GIV.
GIV can be used for Giveth governance, such as in the GIVgarden, a decentralized governance platform, built on Gnosis Chain, where DAO members can fund proposals they believe in through conviction voting.
