I’m glad you asked. Take a seat, the answer will make your head spin. It stands for Chiado DappCon Berlin Blockchain Week ETHBerlin.

“What…?”

That’s right! The key to understanding everything is the month of September. Chiado is the testnet for the hotly anticipated Gnosis Chain/Gnosis Beacon Chain merge in September. DappCon takes place in Berlin and yes, you guessed it - in September! (The 12th to the 14th). Berlin Blockchain Week is September 12th through the 18th AND… ETHBerlin is from September 16th to the 18th. If there were ever a moment to sharpen your bi-location skills, well, this is it because all of these events are happening at nearly the same time.

Merge and Chiado 🔀

The Chiado testnet is set to merge on Monday the 15th ahead of the official Gnosis Chain/GBC merge in September. All Chiado updates are listed below along with information about DappNode packages for the merge.

GIP-61: Shall GnosisDAO fund BootNode as a Core Contributor Team?

This proposal seeks $580,000 in stable coins and 580 GNO (currently valued at approximately $107,000 and is exclusively for running GBC validators for at least 12 months).

BootNode proposes to contribute engineering and development services to the Gnosis DAO ecosystem by building a hands-on autonomous team with relevant experience in multiple disciplines that will focus on growing the GC ecosystem.

The term is for a 6-month engagement.

GIP-60: Should Gnosis pilot a DAOcast?

This proposal seeks $5,200 in funds to pilot a weekly live broadcast to communicate the latest developments in the Gnosis DAO ecosystem, and to provide a new way to grow the community through education and fun. The DAOcast Format is as follows: 

Episode length: ~1 hour

Episodes are released: Bi-weekly

The Pilot Duration: 16 weeks (with 8 total episodes)

🏘 DAO of the Week: Token Engineering Commons

Token Engineering Commons (TEC) is a social protocol, educating token engineers in tokenomic system design.

Token Engineering is an emerging discipline and TEC is building the foundations for education in the field of tokenomics design. The upcoming Token Engineering Fundamentals course is free and will launch at DevCon, in October 2022.

Gnosis Chain serves an important function to the TEC, as the community and contributors are paid in xDAI. The $TEC token is used for conviction voting and the treasury is spent on building the field of token engineering and funding public goods.
