GNO Lock Opportunity Expires in 4 days!
If you are holding GNO on either Ethereum or the Gnosis Chain, time is running out 🐇⏱ to participate in the exclusive 1-year-lock opportunity and qualify for a large COW airdrop.
Those who lock GNO for 1 year (+ validators, see below) will receive distributions based on their locked amount. A full 5% of the total COW airdrop - that’s 50M tokens - are allocated to this effort. Tokens will be distributed linearly per block and vesting will last for a period of 4 years. Distributions will start once the contracts for tradable tokens are live.
Those who lock GNO are also eligible for future airdrops (e.g. Gnosis Safe) and will have a chance to opt-in for liquid staking on Gnosis Chain once it is available.
Locking is Simple!
Go to https://lock.gnosis.io/
Connect your wallet to the chain where your GNO is held (Ethereum or Gnosis Chain).
Complete the transactions. The first allows the contract to use your GNO and the second locks your GNO.
There is no limit to how long you’ve held GNO to be eligible to lock it. So, you can buy and lock it today or tomorrow or the next day or the day after that….. and that’s it, lock option expires in 4 days!
Current locked amounts are low, meaning a big airdrop for participants! How big? For context, at the moment a little more than 10% of the circulating supply is locked (circulating supply = 1,865,027). This means participants will receive almost 10x more vCOW per GNO than from the initial airdrop. As this number increases, individual vCow allocations reduced, but even once 20% is locked (373,005) it’s 5x the first airdrop!
What about Gnosis Beacon Chain Validators?
GBC validators will also receive distributions from the lock. No action needs to be taken if you are a validator, just make sure you have either become a validator or have mGNO in your wallet by the Deadline - February 15.*
If you are considering becoming a validator, get going before the 15th to be eligible for the lock incentive.
