🐃🦄 Coming down from EthDenver
EthDenver was absolute 🔥🔥🔥 this year. We had a chance to catch up with many friends and get updates on the latest expansions and preparations for the big changes coming to Ethereum and the supporting ecosystem.
Gnosis chain was well represented throughout the event. We held a workshop, spoke on panels, handed out swag, sponsored a Buidl floor, and of course attended the many amazing parties. The official closing party was off the hook, and we were happy to sponsor it as well!
This week we’re in come down mode as we travel back to our respective homes and begin to sort through all the leads and connections we made at the event. We are starting to process the validator applications that have been steadily flowing in since our validator workshop. This will take time, so please be patient as we sort and confirm your eligibility for VIP (Validator Incentive Program) status.
We are currently closing in on 60K validators on the Gnosis Beacon Chain. Compare this to the number of stakers on other prominent chains (from https://stakers.info) and you can see the massive decentralization coming to Gnosis Chain once the merge is complete.
POAPs
POAPs (running on Gnosis Chain) were everywhere at EthDenver. You could receive one for attending various events or collect POAPS by participating in the official POAP NFT scavenger hunt. We gave one out for our workshop too!

To help prevent the high price of gas (transaction fees) on the Ethereum mainnet, POAPs moved to the significantly cheaper and faster Ethereum sidechain called Gnosis Chain (formerly xDai) in October 2020. Due to the low fees on Gnosis, POAPs are usually distributed for free and displayed on the official app. As the underlying dynamics of Gnosis are compatible with Ethereum, collectors can still convert their POAPs to the Ethereum mainnet if they pay the required gas fees.
Dark Forest
Dark Forest v0.6 Round 5: The Junk Wars launched during EthDenver, and we’ve seen the corresponding surge in transactions this week. On Feb 21 df accounted for over 130k+ transactions on the GC!
We were fortunate to connect with members of the dfdao as well as the df team building this paradigm-changing game IRL at the conference!
DeFi Integrations
Hundred Finance is a borrowing and lending platform now integrated with Gnosis Chain. A Swapr-based incentive program was also announced this week for the HND token. Check out their site for some 👀 popping rates and read about the integrations here.
LI.FI is a cross-chain bridge and DEX aggregation platform facilitating any-2-any swaps. Li.Fi offers a simple widget for DApp integration, as well as a stand-alone swapping site at https://li.finance/. This week they added Gnosis Chain to their roster of supported chains, facilitating additional options for moving tokens to and from the GC. Learn more here.
