Gearing up for EthDenver
It’s February and EthDenver is in the air! The largest annual gathering of Ethereum devs, builders, enthusiasts and devotees is officially less than 2 weeks away, with BUIDL week firing up 🔥 on Monday, February 14 💓. We’ve got several Gnosis Chain related events happening during BUIDL week and throughout the conference, and hope you can join us for one or all as we rep the GC!
The latest event is an Info and Validator Session we’ve just announced to explore all things Gnosis Chain. Once we've covered the basics, we’ll speed run through a demo with DAppNode experts spinning up a Gnosis Beacon Chain validator node live and in-person!
All session participants will be eligible to receive a 10 GNO Decentralization Grant to support the consensus layer and run 10 validators on the GBC* (currently value ~ $3000 USD)!

Additional Events
The Cow Protocol fam are hosting a Valentines Day Party at Bar Standard on Feb 14 with TrueFi, Balancer Labs, Perpetual Protocol and Solace to get the week started right 💚🐮.
On Wednesday the 16th, Gnosis Chain and Cow Protocol will join forces along with B.Protocol, Immunefi, KeeperDAO, ParaSwap, and UMA to host a Boomer Builder Lunch right before the Gnosis Chain Validator and Info Session 🌮 🍩 🍻. Lunch and networking at 11:00, Info Session at 1:45ish.
And that’s just for starters. There are tons of events being added daily - we’ll be speaking on panels and hosting the official EthDenver Afterparty as well 🕺🏼. Checkout the evolving schedule here.

🐮CoW Protocol Airdrop & Lock Option
GIP13 passed with overwhelming support this morning on snapshot! It means a vCOW token minting is imminent, along with an airdrop that includes GNO holders who were holding on Jan 9, 2022. Allocation list here.
The airdrop for qualified holders is currently planned for next week. Look for more details and related announcements from the CoW protocol team on their Twitter.
If you were not eligible for the initial airdrop, or would like to increase your vCOW airdrop, there are several ways to receive an additional airdrop now👇!
An additional 5% of the vCOW supply will be distributed to participants who:
Lock GNO for one year into a locking contract (on Mainnet or Gnosis Chain)
Hold mGNO (the GNO meta token used for validation).
Note: This additional 5% will be distributed per locked GNO, meaning this airdrop may be higher for participants who lock their tokens compared to the first airdrop (ie if only 50% of GNO is locked, those locking their GNO will receive double the amount of CowSwap tokens compared to the first airdrop)
The GNO locking contract is live and allows deposits until February 15th. You can lock your GNO on Mainnet or on the Gnosis Chain for one year to receive a vested CowSwap airdrop. 5% of the supply of CowSwap tokens will be distributed. Bridge Security
You’ve likely heard about the Wormhole exploit this past week. We’ve been following it closely as it involves bridging mechanisms similar to the OmniBridge where tokens are “minted and burned”. Our bridges are hardened and not vulnerable to this hack, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t susceptible to a not-yet-known attack vector. To mitigate attacks we continue to make security our #1 priority.
In addition to multiple security audits, we set the standard for bug bounties by offering a $2 Million Bounty through Immunefi for hackers to identify potential vulnerabilities in our bridge infrastructure. We’ve built in security measures like daily limits to prevent catastrophic loss in case of an attack, and pioneered arbitrary message sending which can be used to separate asset storage from asset control (ie DAO voting can occur on Gnosis Chain to control assets stored on Ethereum).
In addition, a new proposal in the Gnosis Forum is exploring the creation of an insurance structure to further protect user’s bridged assets. Checkout the bridge insurance proposal, share your ideas, and participate in the process!

GnosisDAO Proposals & Governance
Several additional proposals are now on the table related to a future integration with Aave v3 as well as a (very) large GNO burn. Please take a look and voice your opinion, active participation is 🔑.
A proposal to Launch Aave V3 on Gnosis Chain is live on the Aave forum. It’s important to get additional engagement on this post, head over and comment (and like it 💚 if you like it!).
Should we burn 68% of the total GNO Supply? It’s a big question with big implications for GNO holders. Take a look and see what you think!
Gnosis Beacon Chain Growth
33K Validators and counting! The Gnosis Beacon Chain continues its growth as the Gnosis Chain consensus layer becomes increasingly decentralized. Stats dashboards from NodeWatch and MigaLabs, along with our Dune Analytics Dashboard, are helping us watch the trends and see the growth in real time.
Integrations, Collaborations & News
Here’s a brief rundown of the highlights from projects integrating with the Gnosis Chain this week including 🐰 🐯 and 🦊 on the chain!
Zapper, the go-to web3 dashboard, announced a Gnosis Chain integration. Look for additional data source tracking on GC from Zapper in the near future.
Hop Protocol connects scaling solutions, providing access to quick and easy cross-chain transfers. A Hop Protocol / Gnosis Chain collaboration resulted in a big liquidity jump on the GC Hop Protocol instance 🐇!
Swapr, an integrated DEX on the GC, crossed $10m TVL on Gnosis Chain with a 64% increase to TVL over the past week!
dfDAO, the darkforest DAO, shared a wrap-up from the latest round of darkforest play. Learn how this community is pushing boundaries and innovating in the blockchain gaming space.
Agave protocol participants voted to add the Shapeshift FOX token 🦊 as a collateral on the Agave platform. All in favor …..100%!

Although we’ve got a lot of animals 🐮🦉🐰🦊🐯 featured this week (especially if you count the EthDenver Bufficorn🐃🦄) it’s the people and community that make the GnosisDAO and Gnosis Chain go round.
This week John Szczepaniak joined the GnosisDAO team as a Community Specialist. John will be focused on all things community-related from revamping the Discord to leading efforts to further build the community around the GnosisDAO. We’re excited to welcome John and continue expanding our awesome web3 community!
