Optimism on Gnosis Chain
Gnosis Chain has always operated from a position of positivity, seeing obstacles as opportunities and blockchain technology as the instrument to help us overcome our biggest collective challenges.
With this optimistic worldview in mind, it’s no surprise that optimistic rollups are gaining a ton of traction on GC. A newly deployed implementation of Optimism* on Gnosis Chain is redefining what speed and cost look like in an integrated, multi-chain future.
Optimism uses rollup technology and a sequencer to submit optimized batches of transactions periodically to the L1 chain (in this case Gnosis Chain). This minimizes costs as batches containing transactions are processed rather than processing each individual tx.
Since Gnosis Chain is already many times less expensive than Ethereum, cost savings are magnified accordingly. While sending a simple tx using Optimism on Ethereum costs around $0.56, on Gnosis Chain this is reduced to $0.000000001! This is not a simple 🍎 to 🍎 comparison (L2 on Ethereum vs L2 on GC) but shows the potential for optimization when using the Gnosis Chain ecosystem.
Vitalik Buterin recently tweeted that the L2 fee per tx “Needs to get under $0.05 to be truly acceptable imo”. So….how does $0.000000001 sound?

🪐 Dark Forest: Exploring the Outer Bounds
Dark Forest is a perfect application to test the limits of Optimism on GC due to players (and player-coded bots!) performing as many transactions as possible within compressed time frames. These types of MMO games are prohibitively expensive on Ethereum / Optimism on Ethereum / most L1s, and Gnosis Chain provides the opportunity to explore the outer bounds of what is possible in an optimistic blockchain environment.
So far, their experiments are proving promising!

🏘 DAO of the Week: Quiver DAO
Quiver DAO was formed through a RaidGuild initiative to make web3 development easier. A group of developers joined forces to create an open-source React project that alleviates the pain of interfacing with web3 wallets.
Quiver was one of the first DAOs to be founded and funded with Y33ter by DAOhaus - a no-code DAO creation and fundraising platform with strong donor protections. Within a few days of having the idea, the Quiver team formed their DAO, raised 10,000 USD and began development.
The Quiver React Library is actively maintained, available now and is being used in several web3 projects.
