Bellatrix Hardfork, Eyes On The Merge
At 30 Nov 16:30 UTC, just prior to the Bellatrix hardfork, Gnosis Chain started receiving a significant amount of transactions from a number of addresses. After approximately an hour, this resulted in some nodes starting to lag behind the network. As a result, the network started to experience high levels of gossip traffic due to fork blocks, resulting in nodes entering a period of high resource utilization.
The Nethermind team has released a 1.14.7 hotfix that reduces gossip traffic on the network to alleviate the high resource utilization on Execution Layer nodes.

On the same day, at 19:36 UTC, Gnosis underwent the Bellatrix hardfork upgrade for its Consensus Layer network. After a brief period of intermittent finality, the network reached the 66.6% threshold of participation for finality by 20:05 UTC on November 30th.
Uptime remains at 100% and the participation rate has returned to 91% at epoch 387183 on 02 December 2022. The event revealed the true resilience of Gnosis Chain, a community-run network secured by thousands of at home stakers around the world. Node operators are encouraged to check Discord and Twitter for more updates.
Now that the Bellatrix hardfork is behind us, all eyes are on the merge. According to bordel.wtf, a website tracking the Gnosis merge, on the 7th of December at 23:44hrs UTC the Gnosis Beacon Chain will merge with Gnosis Chain. t’s time for the weekly check-in with Azuro Protocol and their first betting front-end, bookmaker.xyz.
The first week of the World Cup 2022 is behind us, with plenty of controversial ups and downs. As far as XYZ is concerned, we’ve broken numerous milestones. Azuro protocol now accounts for over half of daily active addresses on Gnosis Chain, with a large percentage of that number coming from XYZ.
This week's highlight has to come via the Japan - Spain game. Japan managed to beat Spain 2 - 1. Japan was a huge underdog here, but XYZ players took full advantage of the great odds well above 7, resulting in many 7x bets.
