The drum of RWAs

This week more announcements and data poured in about real-world assets (RWAs) on Gnosis Chain. RWAs on the blockchain, also known as asset-backed tokens, are digital tokens that represent ownership of a physical asset, such as real estate, commodities, or artwork, and are recorded on a blockchain. A Euro backed stablecoin, for example, was first introduced by Monerium on Gnosis Chain with the EURe. This week, Angle Protocol voted to integrate their agEUR onto Gnosis Chain, a decentralized and over-collateralized euro stablecoin designed for DeFi use cases.

Founder of Stakehouse Financial, Sébastien Derivaux, published a Dune Analytics dashboard about tokenized public securities (another way of referring to RWAs) and included data about Backed.Fi on Gnosis Chain. Backed.Fi offers fully backed, tokenized real-world assets on Gnosis Chain.

The implications of RWAs are massive! They have the potential to create new investment opportunities and transform traditional markets by increasing liquidity, enabling fractional ownership, and providing greater transparency and automation through the use of blockchain technology.
